Know-before-you-go content should provide attendees with fundamental references to guide a smooth-sailing event experience. These reference points usually include the following. U.S. Customs Cash Limit Per Person or Per Family

This requirement applies to the combined total for a family traveling together, not just per individual within the family. It means if a family as a whole carries more than $10,000, they need to file a report with CBP.

Depending on the region or country you're traveling from, you may be able to bring in food like fruits, meat, or other agricultural products. You must declare all food products.

Canned, cured, or dried meat is severely restricted from some countries. Bakery items, candy, chocolate, and cured cheese are generally admissible. Canned goods and goods in vacuum packed jars (other than those containing meat or poultry products) are also generally admissible if being imported for personal use.

Rule of thumb: when you go abroad, take the medicines you will need, no more, no less. Narcotics and certain other drugs with a high potential for abuse - Rohypnol, GHB and Fen-Phen, to name a few - may not be brought into the United States, and there are severe penalties for trying to do so.
