Four arrested on drug possession charges

Jack County law enforce-
ment agencies, fire depart-
ments and emergency medi-
cal services were busy during
the holidays protecting and
serving our community resi-
dents.
According to a report pro-
vided by Jack County Sheriff
Danny Nash, fifteen arrests
occurred between Dec. 16 -
31. Four individuals were ar-
rested for possession of con-
trolled substances.
Cory Lee Crow, 21 -year-old
white male, was arrested Dec.
30 by the Jack County Sher-
iff’s Office for possession of
a controlled substance pen-
alty group one, greater than
one gram, less than 4 grams
charge. He was released Dec.
31 on a $15,000 bond.
Kelly Joe Fowler, 25-year-
old white male was arrested
on Dec. 30 by the JCSO for
session of a controlled
stance penalty group
one, less than one gram and
surety off bond for a previ-
ous charge of possession of a
controlled substance penalty
group 1, less than one gram.
He was released Dec. 31
on a $6,000 bond on each
charge.
Timothy Wayne Valley,

January is School Board Recognition Month and a good time to spotlight
more than 7,000 men and women who serve our local schools and help pro-
mote public education.
The Jacksboro Independent School District, Bryson ISD and Perrin-Whitt
CISD will join other districts across the state to celebrate the countless con-
tributions of these dedicated community leaders. Jacksboro ISD will enjoy an
appreciation dinner Jan. 10 and will take a group photo at that time.

educational system,” Governor Perry said.
“Balancing the need for local control with directives coming down from
larger governmental bodies is a difficult and oftentimes unappreciated task,
but for over two centuries, American school boards have risen to such chal-
lenges. School boards also deal with issues such as the rapidly expanding role
of technology in the classroom, the challenge to keep our children both well-
educated and physically active, and—as always—the difficulties inherent in

Last call for
Christmas tree
disposal
Now that the 2010 holidays are over, clean up efforts
can begin with eco-friendly Christmas tree disposal
from the city of Jacksboro.
Trees without all the lights, decorations and tinsel
will be accepted 8 a.m. - noon, Saturday, at the city’s
Public Works gravel yard at the comer of South Third
and West Mesquite streets.
In addition, free mulch is available to the public as
long as it lasts, on a first-come, first-served basis.
There is no charge for this service.
